Katherine is retired and has lived in Crown Point for the past seventeen years. She and her husband have three grown children and five grandchildren. Late in life, Katherine wrote her memoirs about her childhood in a concentration camp “Gakowa” in the Communist Yugoslavia during 1944-1947. Her husband was also a refugee in Germany during WWII, and they met in Chicago in 1956.
Katherine’s memoirs and her husband’s story are published in A Pebble in My Shoe.The 173-page book is available in hardcover for $25.00 or softcover for $14.00 plus postage. Please mail book orders to the address below:
