Mission statement: UNIS (Unite, Network, Inspire, Support)

Unite writers, writing groups, and aspiring writers to foster a community that is actively engaged in an intellectual discussion and encourages both lifelong advancement and a standard of excellence in the creative writing discipline.

Network writers, writing groups, and aspiring writers to promote awareness of writers' resources, including educational, employment, funding*, and publishing opportunities, as well as conferences, retreats, speaking engagements, and other events, while sharing its wealth of talent with educators, librarians, and other parties interested in education and/or presentation of the local literary movement.

Inspire writers, writing groups, and aspiring writers to write, to hone their crafts, to publish, and to share their work with other writers and/or the public at large.

Support writers, writing groups, and aspiring writers in an open-minded and respectful environment, sensitive and responsive to its diverse members' needs.
